Abstract

The flat cable is produced by bonding the two insulating foils (1) to the flat conductors (4) by means of two rollers. The conductors and foils between the rollers and are pressed together. A liquid separating agent (2) is applied to the inner surfaces of the insulating foils at given distances along the cable length to facilitate the later removal of the foils for connecting the cable. The advantage of including the separating agent into the manufacture of the cable lies in its being applied at any required points along the foils simply by altering the template or stencil used in its application.
