Abstract

The joint consist of a body (1) with a parallel bore (2) in its middle section and a parallel bore (3) of smaller diameter at one end. Each section of parallel bore has a groove (4, 5) for an O-ring (6, 7). The end of the body remote from the smaller parallel bore is flared out to form a decorative skirt and also to provide a lead in for the pipe (9). The pipe (9) is pushed into the body until it abuts against the shoulder (19) at the end of the larger bore (2). The smaller diameter pipe (11) is then inserted from the other end and both pipes are secured and sealed by the o-rings.
