Abstract
The sensor unit is for use in the process described in 1564611, and particularly suitable for measuring the temperatures of rapidly moving objects and in the case of a solid medium for ultrasonic wave propagation. The unit has two temperature sensitive elements, which are piezoelectric crystals driving two distinct oscillators, and a mixer which receives the respective oscillations at different frequencies and provides a resultant oscillation at the difference frequency. The mixer precedes an amplifier coupled to an ultrasonic transducer.
