Abstract

The overall charging and supply system for vehicles which are driven from the energy stored in rechargeable batteries, where it is envisaged that there may be more than one charging station, has individual stations forming part of an 'automat' facility. The facility is intended to cover coin, key or some form of credit card operation and may be monitored or unattended. A central control unit oversees the individual charging stations and reacts to feed back from them, providing a suitable circuit response to irregularities in the lead circuits, including those indicating a hazard to the user. The design envisages an ability to control a variety of voltage level requirements and is powered from a variable frequency source.
