Abstract

Two hydraulic jacks (18, 21) convert the motion of a cam (10) controlled fixed fulcrum (13) lever arm (12) into vertical motion of a carriage (24) carrying a workpiece griping arm (25). The cam lever end (12b) actuates a primary jack (18) which in turn motivates a secondary jack (21) whose piston (23) is connected to the carriage which is guided in a slide track. The guide track is straight and vertical and the carriage is urged downwards by springs (26). A compensating reservoir (27), safety valve and cleanser (36) are included in the hydraulic circuit; and the relationship between lever (12b) and the primary jack piston (16) is screw adjustable.
