Abstract
The laser machining device has a beam (2) deflection system designed to minimise vibration encountered in suspended mirror deflection systems. The laser beam is deflected into a lens system which has a convergent lens (4) that can be varied in angular position about a point (13) on the axis of this beam. The system consists of a plano - convex lens set at the end of a cylinder (12) and positioned so that its convex surface faces the fixed concave surface of a plano- concave lens (5), the beam continuing to a fixed convex lens (22), mirror (26) and workpiece (24). The plano-concave lens is pivoted in two planes, control of angle being effected by a motor (20) driven rod (14) bearing on the lens housing.
