Abstract

Improved needle bed for flat knitting machines, of the type with needles having heels rectractable into the needle bed, e.g. for increasing or decreasing, but which comprises, for each retractable needle, a rocking lever, one forked end of which accepts the tail of the associated needle while the other end is subjected to the action of an operating element which can displaced linearly by means of the selector device. Provides a system of temporary and independent braking of decreasing needles in their guides without the rapid wear associated with known permanent braking, while still providing easy selection of these needles.
