Abstract

Bakers dough diving machine has a hopper loaded with dough and a cut-off throat at the bottom from which a divided piece o dough is delivered ny gravity each time the throat passage is constricted to closure. Delivery of the piece being assisted by a blast of compressed air. The constriction of the passage is produced by deformation of a resilient element, such as a diaphragm operated by a mechanical pneumatic or hydraulic system, so that dough being divided does not come into direct contact with mechanically paired elements requiring lubrication. The hopper pref. takes the form of an interchangeable tote bin which can be lifted into its delivery position on a support frame which carries the operating mechanism and controls. The piece of dough cut-off at the throat pref. interrupts the light beam of a photo-electric cell system which can be adjusted to regulate the cut-off weight of a piece by actuating the resilient element deforming system.
