Abstract

Automatic appts. for depositing stacking thin objects, notably skins, is of the endless belt type. It comprises an endless belt by which the skins arrive and a table on which the skins are stacked. The framework is mounted to pivot around the horizontal axis so that the fornt part of the appts. above the table, can be raised or lowered in the direction of the arrow, this portions carries the components specially intended for the deposition of the skins. By choosing the speed at which the skins arrive they can be stacked in the simplest manner or alternate sheets can be reversed so that the fresh side is placed against the flesh side of the next skin or with two hair sides together. When the stack becomes too high the beam of light from the source to the photocell is cut, this causes the framework to rise in proportion as the skins are stacked, so that the latter are always correctly deposited. Other parts of the appts. are controlled by photocells. The depositing belt has a 'fixed' zone so that its speed when depositing a skin is nil. Its various movements are always in the same direction and at the same rate as the feedin means.
