Abstract

The support arm consists of several thin metallic rods closely packed together. The material of the rods is so chosen and its diameter selected such that the support arm is not deformed by its own weight or by the weight of the part it is supporting, but will easily bend when a force is exerted on it by hand. A suitable material for the rod is electrolytic copper. The support arm is covered with a flexible plastic sleeve to protect the arm. At least two of the rods in the bundle can be made from an electrically conducting material, which are insulated from one another and from the other rods int he bundle, so that these can be used to supply current tot he microphone.
