Abstract

The machine holds furniture panels while the adhesive on the joints is hardening. A frame has a base on which the article rests, and a vertical beam, which can be advanced and retracted horizontally by a motor driven screw and nut system. This beam carries a pair of electrically operated pistons by means of which a pressure plate mounted on scissor arms can be pushed against the end of the article. Above this is another piston and scissor arm system for horizontal adjustment, carrying a further vertical piston to apply pressure vertically to that end. On the frame above is a horizontal double piston for two further vertical pistons which apply pressure vertically to two points further along the top surface of the article.
