Abstract
The temperature indicator includes a layer of at least one liquid crystal compound and a resistance heater in thermal contact with the above. A partly insulating layer is above the liquid crystal layer, whose heat capacity, size and geometry ensure a required cooling rate for the device. The layer and the heating device are practically enclosed in an insulating case; The heating device is in the form of a plate or foil resistance heating element, on top of which the liquid crystal layer is placed.
