Abstract

There is a curtain (2) between the front and rear seats of a car. This curtain can be a rectangular piece of strong fabric. At its lower part this curtain is fixed to a horizontal shaft (5) which turns on brackets (6) fitted to the rear seat and slightly below the seat squab. The curtain rises to about the height of the top of the front seat and is held by straps (8) fixed to the roof, rain gutters or central supports. The shaft (5) can be fitted with a return spring to give automatic stowage of the curtain when not in use. The upper edge of the curtain carries fixings (11) for the support straps.
