Abstract

A vertical control rod has an upper stop for a block extending from the punch, with a lower externally threaded sleeve by means of which the height of a lower stop is determined, this being raised or lowered by a bevel drive, controlled by a handwheel. The press is controlled by a hand operated lever with a press button which controls an electromagnet which swings a plate with a spherical arm which acts as a latch to engage the hooked top of the control rod. This hand lever is also swun over to actuate a cam plate attached to the bottom of the threaded sleeve to limit its position. A trigger on the hand lever controls a spring loaded control piston under the control rod.
