Abstract
The semi-underground small transformer station, for power distribution networks, has the incoming and outgoing cable connectors and isolators located in a small chamber (18) between the door (17) and the larger chamber (4) containing the switch-gear. The two chambers are separated by a partition (14) with lead-in holes for the through-connectors (12). The connectors and isolators are serviced by opening the doors. The switch gear is serviced from another large chamber (5) accessible through a slatted ventilation panel (7) set into the side of the transformer station. Having the cable connections by the doors simplifies installation and servicing and allows neighbouring components to be kept in operation.
