Abstract

The points system has a shorter adjustment paths and hence is adjusted faster. All three rail ends in the branch position are formed as flexible blades and the switching points are actuated so that two blades to be connected are pushed together and the third blade is moved away from the connection point. The free rail ends are all flexible blades driven by an actuator. The first two blades are moved together and the third blade is moved away from the joint. These rails can be formed as reaction rails of a linear motor or of a magnetically levitated support or guiding system. The ends of the reaction rails can be coupled and actuated together by the actuating system.
