Abstract

One part of the cover adheres to the stuffing and has a free edge, while the other is in the form of a skirt attached to the free edge at one end. In the part covered by the skirt (3) there is a recess (8) running parallel to the joint between the two parts of the cover, the upper face of it being at the level of the free edge of the part (2) adhering to the stuffing (1). The recess can have a form of a groove, with its bottom inclined and rejoining the mattress face covered by the skirt. A strip of material (11) can be fitted between the free edge and the portion of the skirt sewn to it, to disguise the joint.
