Abstract

Wax bushes are moulded by pouring measured quantities of wax into moulds, supported on a plate pref. as it rotates beneath a filler station, the plate and the positioning of the moulds being designed to produce controlled cooling and crystallisation of the wax as it rotates. After cooling at particular stations by wetting, plungers enter the bottom of the mould to push the bushes upwardly so that a scraper can pass across the tops of the moulds to remove excess wax. Finally the bushes are completely ejected from the moulds and received by an automatic handling device. The bushes are used for piling textile yarns. Good quality bushes are produced automatically. The quality is better than bushes made by e.g. pressing or extruding.
