Abstract

Alternatively the mirror may be flat and the cover glass may be a cylindrical lens. Light entering through the cover glass is reflected onto the back of the liquid crystal display system, which operates using transmitted light. The light crystal display is in the side of the watch adjacent to the attachment for the watch strap. The electronic counters and frequency dividers producing the signals for actuating the liquid crystal display are enclosed in the housing on the far side of the optical system from the display. The optical system is designed to concentrate as much as possible of the ambient light onto the back of the display.
