Abstract
The pneumatic brakes of the train are controlled by a regulating valve which translates the control pressures into braking pressures. In order to achieve fine braking control, without hysteresis losses, and without the control valve sticking for small variations in control pressure, the feedback control piston has a double piston arrangement with a control pressure to release the piston between small pressure steps. The control valve has a variable pivot control lever so that the pressure multiplication factor can be varied to suit the driving conditions i.e. loading of the train.
