Abstract

Coloured photographic images are obtd. by exposing a photographic colour matl. by inversion, then black and white developing, then treating the matl. in an aq. alkaline soln. contg. a fogging agent, then colour developing; the photographic matl. comprising a support coated with >=2 silver halide emulsion layers, the upper layer contg. a ketomethylene type non-diffusible yellow coupler having a gp. which separates on coupling, with the amt. of Ag in the silver halide is not >2 gm./m2. The fogging agent is more effective cf. conventional processes in which the fogging agent is added to the colour developer, and also when the fogging agent is in the developer the developer soln. deteriorates rapidly.
