Abstract

The lamp consists of a housing with a transparent element, a bulb, a curved reflector and a shield to stop direct light to a parabolic mirror. The mirror has fillets which may be arranged horizontal or vertical and have the effect of converting a narrow beam into a wider one. Alternatively fillets may be arranged on the transparent element. The fillets can be a series of scallops and are placed on one side only of the reflector or mirror, in a series of smooth curves. The reflector is of elliptical form.
