Abstract

The device is in the form of a hollow cylinder (1) with a threaded extension (2) for screwing into the inlet manifold. The central bore (3) is connected by a number of transverse drillings (5, 6, 7, 9) to the slow running jet of the carburettor, to the upper space of the fuel tank, to the rocker cover, and to the exhaust pipe, respectively. A piston slides in the bore (3) and is retained at the lower end by a spring under normal running conditions. Under slow running the manifold depression causes the piston to rise cutting off the slow running jet so that the engine runs on the vapour collected from the areas connected to the holes (5, 6, 7, 9).
