Abstract

An engine fuel economising device is a constant head device installed between the fuel pump and carburettor. A small tank (1) is connected by a pipe (3) to the fuel pump and by a pipe (10) to the carburettor. The other end of the tank is connected by a pipe (11) to the main fuel tank. As fuel flows into the tank through the pipe (3) it flows through small holes (17) at the base of the first baffle (16). When the fuel level rises to the edge of the notch (15) in the central baffle (12) excess fuel overflows, passing through the holes (17) in the third baffle and returns to the main fuel tank. The carburettor is thus always supplied with fuel at constant pressure.
