Abstract

The oven for the drying of plaster tiles esp. of parallel-piped plate form and of natural or synthetic plasters, and is designed to rationalize and optimize heating energy consumption. A tunnel or sheath covers half of a rail (2, 2') circuit route for wagons (4) bearing single rows of tiles (5) on their edges, the sheath section conforming tightly to the profile of a loaded wagon. The tunnel has heated air inlets (1), booster air inlet (10) along the route and vapour extraction outlets (7). The tiles (5) are loaded on the wagons parallel w.r.t. one another and to the route. A wagon is pref. transported laterally across the oven to the return track.
