Abstract

The wood drying process consists first in arranging in line a number of batches of wood to be dried. One of these is then covered by a housing (4) incorporating the drier units. The housing is moved in succession over the different batches, drying them in turn. The loading area where the batches are set down can be arranged to accommodate them in line, while the housing is a tunnel travelling along guide rails running for the entire length of the area. The rails can run in grooves, so that the tunnel base is flush with the loading area surface. Sealing devices can be provided between tunnel base and surface.
