Abstract

Capacitive effects from the use of alternating currents are eliminated and filtes are used to effect measurements in polluted atmospheres. A hygrometer probe comprises two nickel wires wound on a cylindrical former and surrounded by fibre glass powder. It has a large impedance variation for cange of humidity level. The output of a Wien bridge oscillator is connected to the probe through a bridge divider. The probe output passes through a low impedance convertor powered from a power supply to an amplifier with a synchronous detector for measurement on a galvanometer. The detector probe is connected to the electronic unit through a screened cable.
