Abstract

Diaphragm valves in which a constant back pressure is maintained on the valve pneumatically by venting the seal pressure through a variable pressure valve. Suitable for controlling materials supplied under pressure to a mixing chamber, e.g. for mfr. of polyurethane resins. Pneumatic back pressure settings remotely controlled from the valve simplify the valve construction and make the setting less liable to disturbance (e.g. during valve maintenance) compared with valves with spring loaded by an integral spring and set screw collar. Minor oscillation of the valve due to fluctuating feed pressures are pneumatically damped.
