Abstract

The brake blocks are of the conventional type carried on a spring loaded caliper which is operated by means of a flexible cable from the brake lever. The brake shoe assembly has an additional bracket welded onto its front end. This bracket holds a cylinder (2) in position by means of the stud and screw (6). The cylinder (2) carries a cylindrical pad (1) which is supported from behind by a spring inside the cylinder. The pad (1) is gripped in a housing (3) which moves with it. When the brakes are applied, the pad wipes the wheel rim dry with a fixed pressure.
