Abstract
Method of decorating glass comprises heating it gradually to a uniform high temp. throughout its mass, then locally quenching it with a solvent liquid contg. dissolved colouring matter, along lines forming a predetermined pattern. The local tension set up by the sudden cooling produces surface cracks into which the colouring matter deposits as the solvent evaporates.
