Abstract

The post hole digging machine is mounted on the tractor three point linkage and consists of a transmission control box (1) connected to the tractor power take off, and control box (2) for the auger (7). Drive from (1) to (2) is effected by a telescopic shaft (8). The auger is supported by arms which form an adjustable parallelogram (3) with telescopic sides capable of being locked at a given length. An adjustable depth stop (6) governs the depths of the holes. Two hand grips (5) enable the operators to raise or lower the augers, aided by compensating springs. The auger is also connected to its support frame by two arms (10) enabling accurate drilling at a precise spot to be carried out. Only three operators are required for the machine, a tractor driver, and a man to operate each of the two augers.
