Abstract

Two interlocking coupling members are used to join fluid supply lines such that there is no possibility of spillage or leakage. One half of the coupling has a plug with a tapered profile that locates in the main housing and is sealed by a ring. To open the plug is swung through 90 deg. by an actuator operating on a square pin. The second half of the coupling also uses a tapered plug with a seal and this is retracted to the open position by turning a shaft to rotate an eccentric to retract the shaft. The two halves of the coupling are secured together by projecting lugs locating on mating parts on the other coupling half.
