Abstract

The outer wall of the pipe consists of sections of pipe (3) made from reinforced concrete, with rings (4) of neoprene fixed between consecutive lengths of pipe. the interior of the pipe is lined with a sleeve (1) of P.V.C. covered with a layer of glass cloth (2) bonded with polyester resin. The end of the sleeve (1) is stretched by a hydraulic jack with the reaction being taken by the concrete sections (3) causing deformation of the joint rings (4). The ends of the sleeve (2) and pipe (3) are then bonded together producing a concrete pipe with flexible joints which is suitable for submersed pipe lines.
