Abstract
Pipes or ducts are lined with a flexible sheet material pre-fabricated as a partially creased and flattened adhesive-coated flexible tube by locating the tubing coaxially within the pipe and using an inflatable clamp to extend and hold one end of the lining within the pipe mouth while pressure is admitted to distend the linings throughout the pipe. Used for lining pipes, ducts, chutes etc. to obscure leaks or obtain a smooth bore surface of for protection against passing material aggressive towards the pipe structure, esp. for applying polyethylene or flexible PVC linings to metal pipes, using thermosetting resin based adhesive coatings on the outside of the linings. May be used to line complete or long runs of pipe without intermediate joints in the linings.
