Abstract

The tubing utilized is double layered glass fibre cloth embedded in silicone rubber. The female half (2) of the connection terminates in an increased diameter. Section (8) followed by a rigid stainless steel ring moulded between the two layers. The male half (1) terminates with a circular helically wound spring (17) moulded between layers. To make the joint the male is contracted and introduced into the female, with a ring of silicone rubber (18) interposed between the two sections. The seal is then made by the expansive force of the circular spring against the stainless steel ring.
