Abstract

The toothed wheel (1) is mounted on a shaft (3) which runs in the ball bearings (4) inside the casing (9). The nozzles (2) supply high velocity jets of fluid which drive the wheel (1). The fluid leaving the turbine wheel falls to the bottom of the casing (9) where it flows to a pump through the pipe (8). The pump then returns the fluid to the nozzles (2). A second pump is used to supply cooling water to passages on either side of the upper half of the casing (2). The invention can be used with a mini-engine deriving its power from any source and renders the use of a change-speed gear box unnecessary.
