Abstract

derivs. of formula (I) (where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 are H, halogen, CF3, NO2, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, at least 3 of R2, R3, R4 and R5 being H; and n is 2, 3 or 4), e.g. 6-phenyl-2,3,6,11-tetrahydro-1H-pyrimido 2,3-c 2,4 benzothiazepine, are new cpds. They may be prepd. by cyclizing a 2-CH2X-benzhydryl 1,3-diaza-1-cycloalken-2-yl thioether (where X is a leaving group). (I) have sedative activity (dosage 4-500 mg/day) and, especially, anti-arrhythmic activity (dosage 1-100 mg/day).
