Abstract

Parts (2) placed on the conveyor to the stacking machine are transferred sideways by belt (10) onto another belt conveyor (13) on the machine. This conveyor is attached to the stacking head (16), driven by a motor (19) and chain (18) vertically up and down, the conveyor following. Variations in length are taken up by jockey pulleys (20, 21). An arm (25) on the stacking head (16) has belts along its length, driven by a motor (15). Switches (6, 31, 34) control all movements; the parts passing up the inclinable conveyor and onto the arm. This arm is lowered a distance (h) equivalent to that between the trolley bars (32), leaving the part (2) resting in place.
