Abstract

A multiplate press for boards (chipboard, fibreboard etc.) has control devices for monitoring the movement of each plate ast he press opens, in such a way that each plate opens to wide gap, while the plates behind it remain stationary, thus permitting easy removal of the pressed board from the gap; when the board has been removed, the next plate is opened, and so on. The prefd. direction of movement of the plates is upwards during opening of the press and downwards in the reverse order under gravity, when the matl. slabs for the next batch are being loaded into the press. The total height of the press is utilised to the maximum.
