Abstract

The directional command for the hydraulic motor (7) is given by a valve in which the piston is normally held centrally by two springs. An auxiliary pump feeds fluid to this valve via a feed pipe (21) and a three position direction switch (9). A second pipe (22) connects the valve via a pressure regulator valve (16) to the fluid reservoir. Depending on the pump output pressure (3) the regulator valve either discharges the control fluid to the reservoir (normal) or puts the full control pressure on the direction switch (high). In the latter case the pressure back-up neutralises the piston in the control valve and reverses the motor. The pressure regulator valve has a two-piece piston, interconnected by springs, to give a movement directly proportional to output pressure.
