Abstract

The engine, which works on the two stroke principle, has two opposed cylinders with pistons (P1) and (P2) rigidly attached to opposite ends of the same connecting rod. The connecting rod carries a coil (I) which is energised from the battery through the regulator (R). Two coils (B1) and (B2) are mounted side by side between the cylinders and co-axially with the coil (I). When the pistons (P1) and (P2) oscillate within the cylinders, the movement of the coil (I) generates an alternating current in the coils (B1) and (B2) which is fed through the regulator (R) to the electric motor (M) which drives the road wheels. The engine is started by connecting the coils (B1) and (B2) to the battery which sets the pistons in motion.
