Abstract
The method is for cascading two triacs (1, 2). The triacs are connected head to tail by the principal opposite electrodes (A, A1). One control voltage or current simultaneously triggers them according to differing biassing modes, such that the polarities of their triggers (G, G1) are different with respect to the polarities of their respective first principal electrodes. A static switch comprising two triacs (1, 2) in series is characterised in that the two triacs are connected by their first principal electrodes (A, A1) and that a control signal is applied in parallel to the two triggers (G, G1) via intermediate balancing impedances (3, 4. Alternative arrangements include a divert connection to the triacs without the balancing impedances and a system with a diagonal connection.
