Abstract

Thiazole herbicidal derivs. of formula (I) are (where X is Cl,Br,F or I; Y is H or lower aliphatic gp; R is lower aliphatic gp. Z is CH2N(R')CH2- or -CH(OR2). CH(OR3)- R1 is opt. substd. lower hydrocarbyl gp; R2 is H or acyl; R3 is H, acyl or opt. substd. lower hydrocarbyl gp) herbicides with little effect on cotton, ground nuts, sunflower, vegetables and cereals; applied at a rate of 0.5-10 kg/ha.
