Abstract

The sheathing head has a number of orifices to which the liquid sheating material is distributed, and this is done at a pressure higher than that necessary to form jets of liquid at the orifice outlets, and at a volume greater than the volume of air escaping through the orifices. A compression chamber is mounted between the supply device and the distributor and its volume is such as to allow compression by the sheathing material introduced of air escaping into the chamber and into the distributor. Compression is effected from atmospheric pressure to that required to form a jet of liquid before the sheathing material arrives at any of the orifices.
