Abstract

The operation of the control can be remote or local and by means such as optical or touch button. The numerical display is mounted on the front of a television receiver with an adjacent touch control (10) which is connected to an astable flip flop (12). The length of time the touch control is operated is converted into a series of pulses by a decimal counter (13) connected to the flip flop. These digitals signals are passed to a decoder (14) to power a display circuit (15) controlling the display of the required programme and also to power a number of electronic switch circuits (16) which switch the programme tuning circuits. The decoder has a many paths as there are possible programmes.
