Abstract

Textile materials are treated with a liquid by electrostatically spraying the liquid on to the textile using, e.g. a high speed rotary atomiser, and allowing the liquid droplets to pass through an ionised atmosphere prior to contacting the textile. Process is esp. for treating textile fabrics with solns., dispersions, emulsions and also powders, e.g. dye dispersions, carriers, fixing agents, naphthalates, softeners, anti-soiling agents, flameproofing agents, crease resisting agents, etc. The process permits accurate dosing and gives a homogeneous distribution of the liquid.
