Abstract

The cutting blade is mounted in a square bottomed groove which runs along the length of the cylinder. The blade lies against one side of the groove while pressure plates are mounted against the cutter blade and the other side of the groove. The ends of the pressure plates are bent inward to partly close the ends of the groove. The space between the two pressure plates is filled with rollers, the centre lines of which lie radially in relation to the cylinder. The rollers lie against one another and alternately against either pressure plate. The end rollers are of larger diameter and fill the whole space between the pressure plates. A cylindrical cut-out is machined in the circumference of the cylinder which cuts through the longitudinal groove.
