Abstract

Machine tool comprising a base (1), a tailstock (2) and a carriage (3) mounted on slides, with the headstock (5) and drive motor (6) mounted on one or more columns (4) so that the vertical position of the headstock can be varied. A locking screw (8) holds the assembly in position. Drive is transmitted by a belt (7) from an electric motor (6) at the base of the column. This gives added flexibility of use of the machine, including adjustment to suit the dimensions of the workpiece.
