Abstract

A chain or cable (8) is stretched from top to bottom of the rubbish chute (1) and a movable brush assembly (3) is fixed in front by means of a rigid, adjustable rod. A spraying head (4) receives the disinfectant stored in reservoir (5) and compressed air stored in reservoir (6). An electric motor (7) raises and lowers the appts. along the vertical chain through toothed rollers. The appts. rises up the chute and the brushes remove the accumulated dirt; the cleaned wall is then sprayed with the disinfectant. When the appts. has reached the top of the chute the brushes can be removed, the motor reversed and a second spraying be effected as the appts. descends.
