Abstract

Reinforcing belt for automobile tyres consists of a first belt layer, side strips consisting of a synthetic resin or rubber mixt., and a second belt layer whose eges are folded around the side strips so that the latter end at a pre-defined minimum distance from the fold edges, the folded edges of the second belt layer also surrounding (the edge zone of) the first belt layer. Provides tyres for use at very high velocities, and with excellent stability and roll resistance.
